Blacklight Rally Video Feedback

Hey guys!
Tech would like some feedback on the Blacklight Rally Video( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bR-c4poJtmw ), Was it fun to watch, did you guys like the editing, were the jokes appropriate for the even,t, and most importantly was it ATTENTION grabbing? Just for reference, the sound did not  play during the rally due to technical difficulties.
Thanks,
Tech

Blacklight Rally (1/13)

Hey guys!
If you could give us feedback about the blacklight rally that would be really appreciated!
There are a couple of things that we'd like your opinion on specifically, along with any general comments or things that we should improve on.
1) Would you rather have a general spirit week or one that relates to the theme of the rally?
2) What did you think about the live stream at the beginning of the rally?
3) How did we do performance-wise as spirit commissioners? What can we improve on?

Here's some stuff that we already know about the rally, so if you could try and give us different feedback that would be great :)

1) Yes, the juniors song didn't have as many lyrics. Sorry.
2) The video audio didn't work.

Thanks <3

Staff Appreciation Week 1/9-1/13

Hey guys, thank you to everyone who helped out Recognition with our Staff Appreciation Week. I know a lot of you may have not been able to see a lot, since most of it took place in the staff lounge, but we'd still love for you all to give feedback on the event itself. Some things that we have already looked over are:
1.)Create a more secure student feedback form
2.)Order more fruits/Coffee/ Cream Cheese
3.)Order coffee further in advance
4.) Communicate better with the Staff. Tell them about the event in advance.

Also, I feel as If for our large brunch, we were lacking variety on the types of foods we bought. If you have any feedback on foods to buy for next time, feel free to suggest it.

Our Menu this time:
Coffee, Watermelon, Strawberry, Honeydew, Bagels (Panera Bread), Cream Cheese, Cranberry and Orange Juice.

Personal Capstone Projects: Problem Brainstorming

Hey everyone,

With Personal Capstone Projects starting up this semester, we're going to start off the brainstorming process with a blogger. Your list of problems are due by Thursday (1/19) before 3rd Period and will be a graded assignment. Here's your task:

  • Come up with a list of at least 10 unique problems/issues that you've seen or experienced around campus / the community. These problems can of any type / category.
    • Examples of these are as follows:
      • Teachers in the Voyager program aren't recognized enough
      • The bulletin boards around campus are ugly
      • It's hard to know what resources are available to students
      • We don't have enough LHS spirit apparel
      • Etc.
  • Don't come up with problems around campus for the sake of hitting 10. Try to really think about your life on campus and specific areas you think genuinely could use improvement.
  • Try not to be generic, though. "Student Stress" is obvious. Take it a step further: "Students are always stressed the week before finals", or "Students are stressed because they have nobody to rant to". Yeah, these are random, but the simplest problems can have brilliant solutions.
  • You're only coming up with problems for right now. You can jot down any quick ideas to solve them that you may have, but remember: there's are a million different ways to solve one problem. You'll have plenty of opportunities to pitch your crazy ideas and passion projects soon enough.
We'll be categorizing these problems and doing idea generation next week. Chat me if you have questions!

Making Shadow Days Special?

Hi All,

Do you have any ideas for what ASB can do on either this Friday, the 13th or next Friday the 20th to make the campus more welcoming for the incoming shadow students?

Currently, Mira/Lilian/I are entertaining the following ideas:
- Lynbrook apparel day (for clubs to rep their pride, demonstrate spirit, also get staff involved)
- A mini club info day with just one officer from each club to meet/greet with the students
- Giving away Lynbrook "swag" like buttons, pens, whatever else we can scrounge up
- More?

We are especially looking for ideas on how we can make next Friday the 20th special, considering that there's already going to be an awesome blacklight rally on the 13th.

Please give us specific ideas on either the 13th and 20th as well as feedback on our current ideas for blogger credit!

Powderpuff Football Field

Hey guys!!
ASB athletics could use your valuable feedback on the proper and ideal length of the football field during the girls' football games.
Things that are worth mentioning in your comment:
1. Field Length (yards) i.e: start at 50 but play the rest of the game with the length of the entire field,
cut the field length to 60 yards and start at 20 yards, full field and start at 50 and each team has 6 downs
2. Field goals (yes or no)
3. Punting (yes or no)
4. Time limit (full game or halves)
5. Tie-breaker ideas
6. Consolation game?

Again, we really value your opinions, and we hope to plan out the best possible powderpuff event with you guys! If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the athletics members.

Thanks,
ASB Athletics
